    CONTRACT:
    Permanent, Part Time (22.5 hours per week)
    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Club as Academy Doctor.

    The purpose of this role is to provide elite level medical care for the B Team, Rangers Academy, Women's 1st team and Girls' Academy players in line with Rangers standards and values.

    You will be responsible for providing reactive treatments, diagnosis, and care to all players as well as supporting education for players and staff to minimise injury, maximise performance, and encourage healthy lifestyles.


    THE ROLE
    Pitch-side cover for B team and U18 squads.
    Oversee and co-ordinate matchday cover for Women's 1st team.

    Arrange annual cardiac screening, ensuring compliance with SFA, SPFL and UEFA criteria, for professional players in Academy/Women's squads and provide follow up as required.

    Arrange investigations and follow up with specialist consultations as required.
    Undertake pre-signing medicals for Academy and Women's squads and provide reports to management staff.

    Attend specialist consultations with players as required and liaise with specialists providing care for players in a rapid and appropriate manner.

    Ensure emergency action plan is up to date and available internally and for opposition.
    Ensure emergency equipment and medications are up to date and fully stocked.
    Provide remote advice to players and staff as required.
    Actively participate in Academy and Medical CPD – provide education through formal presentations and ad-hoc discussion.

    Support all the Academy medical team with diagnosis and treatment via case study sessions and daily hands on support.

    Role in Player Care Team, providing mental health support to staff and players. Participate in monthly PCT review discussing cases and management strategies.
    Design and implement new strategies to improve functionality of the Academy Medical Department.
    Attend Academy Management Team meetings as required to provide specific medical input.
    Contribute to, and jointly lead, weekly Rangers Academy Medical meeting providing player updates and discussing management strategies.
    Provide up to date anti-doping education and education to players in line with UEFA requirements.
    Liaise with international medical teams to provide information on national squad players.

    Contribute to the recording of data to create insight allowing impact and continued review of practice generating constant improvement.

    Push research across the department creating a reputation for excellence.

    Contribute to the wider Academy vision and culture being consistent to our READY values of – Relentless, Excellence, Aspirational, Diverse and Yours.

    Ensure, where appropriate, that medical practices through the club are aligned from first team to the youngest age groups creating a consistency of approach generating our 'one club' effect.

    Contribute, and where appropriate lead on, joint work with our sports science team to create holistic physical profiles allowing us to monitor players, develop players and assess player potential.

    Continually push personal development ensuring that we are fully up to speed with all modern medical sports medicine practice.

    Travel with the U18's, B Team and on occasion other squads to overseas events and tournaments.

    In addition to providing elite medical care to the players use these travel opportunities to establish best medical practice in other clubs and countries.


    THE CANDIDATE
    Full GMC registration.
    Pitch-side emergency training (Sport Promote, ATMMIF).
    Experience of GP/Emergency Medicine/Orthopaedics roles.
    Experience in elite sports medicine.
    Eligible to work in the UK.
    CCT in GP or Sport and Exercise Medicine.
    Further qualification in Sport and Exercise Medicine – MSc, Dip SEM, MFSEM.
    Personal Attributes
    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with players and colleagues.
    Be flexible in work environments and schedules, adapting to the team and role requirements.
    Rational and structured approach to problem solving and managing complex issues.
    Excellent organisational skills for arranging medical screening, cardiac screening, and international travel planning.
    Wide knowledge base in terms of musculoskeletal issues affecting adolescent footballers.
    Awareness of personal limitations and ability to seek advice as appropriate.
    Good understanding of IT and willingness to learn new processes.
    A dynamic individual who enjoys working in an exciting and fast paced environment with ambitious and driven colleagues.
