This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Rotor Designer with a strong background in 3D CAD design to join them as their Principle design engineer. The ideal candidate would have excellent experience with 3D modelling, sketching, surfacing and a good understanding of Aerospace regulation.

    Our Client

Our client is an exciting early-stage company developing an innovative eVTOL air taxi solution. Their product is a zero emissions, fully electric rotorcraft with the capability to carry up to 30 passengers. This company is looking to build on the already established AAM industry by offering a low noise, affordable method of transport for urban environments.

    The role

As an experienced rotor designer, You will be responsible for the design and integration of the overall rotor hub. You will lead the design of the rotor hub assembly including pitch control mechanisms, linkages, bearings, hinges, actuation and supporting components.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Lead conceptual and preliminary design of overall rotor hub assembly including modelling of assembly in 3DX/CATIA V6

    • Lead trade studies to assess cyclic pitch controls, flapping hinges and elastomeric bearings

    • Lead the design and selection of control mechanisms, hinges, bearings, actuation and instrumentation for hub assembly

    • Lead the integration of the rotor hub with the electric drivetrain

    • Support definition of rotor blade root design, blade grips and hub retention assemblies
