The role


You will be tasked with ensuring that our intermediary proposition including our products remain compliant, competitive and suitable for target markets.

You'll have the opportunity to work on a broad range of initiatives across our proposition team.

In time, you'll be helping to shape the proposition, services and support offered to meet the needs of financial advisers.


You will support and at times leads activity in relation to the development, delivery or ongoing management of Standard Life's Customer and Workplace proposition ensuring that Standard Life's propositions continue to meet customer and employer needs, all regulatory requirements are met, risks are effectively managed and propositions deliver Standard Life's commercial objectives.


  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of intermediary and end customer needs and behaviours, so that proposition design, delivery or ongoing management activity can be tailored to reflect these needs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of how the various propositions fit together for customers and advisers and identify opportunities for improvement. The role has our customers and our advisers at its heart with a key aim to improve how we support them to and through retirement.
  • Manage aspects of the propositions under own responsibility to ensure that adviser, customer and business benefits are achieved and maximised, risks are identified and appropriately managed and activity is prioritised.
  • Supporting proposition reviews and taking responsibility for progressing actions.
  • Using adviser insight to understand how we can design and deliver products and services that better meet their needs and resolve pain points.
  • Analysing data to understand advisers and how they use our propositions.
  • Work effectively and build relationships with others across the business and work in or lead crossfunctional teams.
  • Understand the impact of changes in the wider market legislative, competitive, social and technological and uses this knowledge to help develop, deliver or manage Standard Life's propositions
  • Identify and resolve or where appropriate escalate risks and issues in a coordinated manner with others both within proposition and across other parts of the business.
  • Evidence that all activity has been carried out in line with all relevant aspects of the proposition governance framework.
  • The ability to focus on and manage risk for Standard Life and our customers, thinking about the outcomes for our customers, advisers and our business.
