Salary:
£22,500 - £25,000 (Depending on experience)


Working hours:
Full-Time - 40 hours (Flexible) - Monday to Friday

HMP Dovegate is a category B male establishment prison based on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border near Uttoxeter.

The operational capacity is for 1100 prisoners, and it takes a whole team of people to keep the facility safe, secure and in proper working order.


As our Segregation Administrator, you will be providing support to the Segregation Unit, you will conduct operational and administrative duties while working closely with prisoner custody officers and the custodial operational manager.

You will also ensure a high level of security and confidentiality is maintained in relation to staff and prisoners, and that all information, both written and oral, is treated confidentially.

A key element of this role is computer-based working therefore you will need to possess a high level of office base skills.

Your key accountabilities consist of but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance of prisoner records and segregation paperwork.
  • Processing and administration of data in Segregation.
  • Provide the men in the unit with information regarding the unit and their reviews.
  • Maintain supplies in the unit including distraction packs, library items and stores.
  • Attend and minute the weekly segregation meetings.

What you need to do the job

Essential:


  • Excellent administration skills / experience of working in busy office environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • High level skills with Microsoft Word and Excel

Desirable:


  • Previous experience of working in a segregation unit.
