We are recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our expert team at Royal School Manchester.
This role and will consist of 2 days per week teaching cover for class Teachers and 3 days dedicated to an area of specialism which will be Learner Voice.
The successful candidate will become a part of our outstanding school team and will support a class teacher for up-to 6 students.
We have a new state of the art school with advanced resources and a dedicated team of Therapists, specialist Teachers and TA, fantastic teaching and learning facilities, staff room and outdoor areas and swimming pool; all of which make our school an excellent working and learning environment to be part of.
To complement the Teachers delivery of the curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, pupils and school policies and strategies.
To work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist Teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.
To supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of Teachers.To support the Head of School in fulfilling the Schools KPIs.
Support the Head of School in the implementation of health and safety requirements for the school and ensure the correct processes and training is in place to establish a secure and safe environment for students attending school.
Experience of working with children and young people with complex learning difficulties including PMLD, MSI, sensory impairment or ASCTeaching qualification or willingness to achieve the HLTA qualification
Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma
GCSE English and Maths (grade C/grade 4 or above), or level 2 numeracy and literacy
Regular requirements to move and handle service users who have a range of physical abilities, in a variety of settings including classroom, gym, pool areas, residential units and some restricted spaces
