    Employer Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust Location London Salary £49,036 to £55,049 a year pa including Inner HCAS Closing date 22 May 2024 The Gender Identity Clinic (GIC) is the largest and oldest gender clinic in the UK, dating back to 1966.

    We accept referrals from all over the UK for adults with issues related to gender. We accept referrals for patients who are aged 17 years and older onto our waiting list. We are a multi-disciplinary team, including psychologists, psychiatrists, endocrinologists, speech and language therapists, and nurses. We work together to provide holistic gender care, focusing on the biological/medical, psychological, and social aspects of gender.

    Working together with the Consultant Lead Endocrinologist, the CNS plays a vital role, in monitoring and managing physical health and endocrine needs of patients under the care of the Gender Identity Clinic.

    This requires forming close working relationships, on-going consultation support to GPs by consistently enacting the Shared Care Prescribing Protocol.

    In partnership with other members of the Multi-disciplinary Team, the role supports the patient's safe progression through the established care pathway.

    The post holder will foster a culture of networking in an open and transparent way with internal and external partners.

    Registered Nurse with the NMC
    Evidence of post graduate education and training/CPD relevant to role

    Evidence of skills and knowledge or qualification in advanced clinical assessment/physical examination or willingness to undertake this training.
    Independent prescriber with experience of prescribing or willingness to undertake training
    Post graduate qualification in Gender Healthcare

    Experience of care planning
    Experience of liaising with external agencies and professional networks
    Experience of supporting/teaching/supervising nursing students or equivalent
    Experience of working in a Band 7 role
    Experience of supervising and/or managing junior staff
    Experience of writing or contributing to research grants and/or publications
