Process Technician - Enzyme Manufacturing
Location:
Nantgarw, Cardiff
Salary:
£24,000, increasing £1000 after successful probation & 30% night shift allowance + substantial benefits
Position:
Permanent, Full Time
Working Hours:
Working 4 x 11.5hr night shifts
Start time: 6:00 pm Finish time: 6:00 am
(During training period - hours will be 4 x 11.5hr day shift - 4 on/4 off rolling week)

Biocatalysts develop and manufacture speciality enzymes from small to large scale quantities for a variety of industries such as food, flavor, fragrance, life science, pharma and fine chemicals.
We are the only company offering a rapid, low-cost speciality enzyme service from discovery phase through to global shipment of regulatory compliant enzymes.
About the Role:
Due to our on-going commitment to expanding our manufacturing capabilities within our fermentation plant, we have an opportunity for a Process Technician who will be part of our highly motivated team.
About you:
Qualifications / Education / Training:
- 5 A-C GCSE's Grade including Maths & English OR equivalent OR
- NVQ (L3) in Process Operations OR Certificate in Process Technology (L3) OR similar
- Fork lift training certificate (Desirable)
- Working at height (Desirable)
Experience:
- Operating manufacturing equipment such as fermenters, centrifuges, tanks, pumps, filters with strict adherence to safety
- Following Standard Operating Procedures
- Cleaning and maintenance of production equipment
- Basic engineering/scientific/chemical process skills (Desirable)
- Working in a food manufacturing environment (Desirable)
- Working in controlled areas e.g. GMP, Clean room (Desirable)
- Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety Management systems (Desirable)
Knowledge:
- Safe operation of a range of plant/machinery/set and adjust controls
- Understanding engineering principles (Desirable)
- Aseptic handling of micro organisms (Desirable)
- Enzyme extraction and purification process (Desirable)
- Food Safety and HACCP (Desirable)
- GMP (Desirable)
