- Acquired neurological conditions.
- To deliver Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Service to acute hospital in-patients with various neurological conditions utilizing specialized skills in dysphagia and communication.
- To contribute to instrumental evaluation of swallowing including Videofluoroscopy.
- To assess and manage tracheostomy.
- To evaluate the Speech and Language Therapy service focusing on acquired neurology, providing recommendations for enhancements aligned with best practices and guidelines.
- To collaborate with the Multidisciplinary Team to diagnose, assess, treat, and manage swallowing and communication disorders within the specialty.
- To offer expertise to colleagues, patients, and carers through specialized advice and education.
- To assist the Speech and Language Therapy team in delivering care across the Acute Medical service.
