- Manage the recruitment, development, and training of Technical Operators and operators.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures by handling absences and, if necessary, dealing with disciplinary and grievance cases in line with the policies.
- Ensure production targets and conformity to the plan are achieved.
- Monitor waste levels and accuracy and waste documentation. Identify opportunities and take the lead on projects to minimize and eliminate waste.
- Accountable for boosting overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and potential efficiency.
- Promote Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and activities with the team to spot and implement improvement opportunities continuously uncovering ways to cut costs, enhance standards to boost efficiencies across all sectors, using appropriate CI methods and embracing a 'fix forever' attitude.
- Ensure efficient communication among operations teams within and between shifts, management teams, and inspire others to achieve higher standards.
- Collaborate closely with other support teams (e.g., Hygiene, Quality, Supply Chain, Health & Safety, HR) and build relationships.
- Ensure your team grasps and displays the importance of providing high levels of customer service (both internal and external) and find ways to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Continuously unearth ways to reduce costs, upgrade standards, and improve efficiency across all areas. Drive standards by effectively adopting and instilling recognized continuous improvement practices.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems and procedures in all areas of responsibility (operators, production, and equipment).
- Meet hygiene audit requirements, plan, and oversee weekly cleaning schedules.
- Maintain an 'audit ready' production environment at all times.
- Identify and resolve issues in all areas of responsibility (operators, production & equipment).
- Exercise attention to detail, determine root causes, and showcase adept problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Promote a safety-oriented culture to meet the required safety measures and standards, following Company and statutory regulations.
- Recruit Technical Operators and operators.
- Demonstrable understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable continuous improvement methodologies (Essential)
- Leadership capabilities (Essential)
- People management skills (Essential)
- Experience in FMCG/Food Manufacturing (Desirable)
- Proficiency in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (including energy), standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems; Product Quality Evaluation (PQE), Process Control Documentation, Complaint Investigation
- Food Safety Level 3 certification
- Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely certification
