    Role Purpose

    Strategically based out of London, United Kingdom, the role of NOC Network Operator at Soda will see you work as a key member of a small, dynamic team reporting directly to the NOC Manager. Working within a 24x7 rotational roster, you will assist in the operation and maintenance of our network infrastructure, managing incidents, implementing real-time network changes, and driving continuous improvements for the Group.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead troubleshooting efforts within our international NOC, diagnosing, and resolving incidents to minimise their impact on our network and customers' services.
    • Collaborate with the NOC and Technology teams on planning and implementing updates, patches, or configuration changes enhancing our network performance and any restoration efforts.
    • For significant network challenges, lead the development and execution of comprehensive recovery plans. This involves assessing the broader impact of faults, prioritising recovery actions.
    • Analyse past incidents and identify patterns or improvement opportunities, proposing changes, upgrades, or developing more efficient NOC procedures contributing to prevention of future faults and enhancing our incident management processes.
    • Ensure all incidents and resolutions are accurately recorded within our service management system for post-incident analysis, compliance, and keeping stakeholders and customers informed.

    About you

    • Qualification in Telecommunications Engineering
    • Extensive experience with routing protocols, network design, wireless network design and implementation, and troubleshooting network performance issues in a large-scale and complex network environment
    • Ability to apply current industry standards and best practices in design, problem resolution, capacity planning, and proactive methodologies
    • Understanding of Transmission/Long-haul/Subsea/Optical Networks
    • Experience across IP Networks (MPLS/BGP)
    • Firewalls, switches, routers, and other network equipment (Cisco, Fortinet)
    • ITIL V3 knowledge, Service Operations & Service Transition
    • Use of service management systems for network incident, network change, service incident and problem management
    • Experience with Maintenance Delivery process and management of MOPs
    • Experience with access, control and security compliance at facilities
    • Knowledge of Data Centre environments rack management, powering, temperature related management.
    • Experience with Network Event Management process and systems
    • Knowledge of a global telecoms environment with a general understanding of broadband internet, router, switches and optical transmission system
    • Experience developing junior network operators
