    At VVB, we are currently recruiting for a

    Quality Assurance Manager:
    Covering various MEPH projects within the Rail sector located in Birmingham and surrounding area. The role will be based working out of VVBs Birmingham office.


    Current Projects:
    Birmingham Gateway, Midland Metro Project overview: Birmingham New Street Station.

    The aim of this project is to unify the electrical certification required to hand back the relevant electrical systems to the Client in accordance with the Network Rail Asset Management Process and the following project specific electrical certification strategy.

    The Birmingham Gateway Project (BGP) is a remediation project. VVB Engineering are carrying out intrusive surveys across multiple M&E systems at Birmingham New Street. The surveys will lead to remedial works on the sub systems where deemed required.

    This position will work closely with the VVB commissioning manager to ensure correct procedures and processes are followed from Survey reports, closure of installation ITPs to the testing, commissioning and integration of all systems through to Network Rail ( Pre Commission, Pre Energisation & Post Commission)This position supported by the VVB central Assurance team will be responsible for the management of the assurance and compliance processes within the delivery team.

    Monitor and report on asset performance, reliability, efficiency and compliance. Make recommendations that will improve business performance.

    Providing Quality Assurance support to the VVB team and collating all documentation relating to the Verification & Validation matrix, Test & Commissioning and hand back deliverables required to comply with the AMP process.

    Track Calibration certificates
    Manage Red line drawing register
    Attend Site Acceptance Tests
    Manage Snags/Out Standing Works List assuring closure.
    Organise and manage completed works inspections
    Ensuring QA procedures used on project are standardized and comply with the Company QA process
    Ensure that all documentation and certification is complete and checked prior to handover
    Collect/collate site assurance documentation
    Assure materials comply with design specification
    Monitor quality of installation works throughout project life
    Consulting with delivery team and principal contractor
    Develop quality plans, manuals, documents, and systems
    Manage project ITP process
    Manage Verification & Validation procedure
    Monitor progress and report on business performance improvement initiatives. Make recommendations to address issues that require management action.
    Assist in investigation of incidents and performance/compliance related failures.
    Manage the process to submit, monitor and close out Non Compliances.
    Monitor the progression and close-out of Non-Conformance Reports within the agreed timescales.
    Monitor and report on asset performance, reliability, work productivity and efficiency. Compile reports and analyse trends. Make recommendations to address issues that require management action.
    Monitor and report on a programme of assurance, staff surveillance, work quality and asset condition checks. Compile periodic reports and analyse trends. Make recommendations to address issues that require management action.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Previous experience of working on both electrical and mechanical projects
    Very good knowledge and practical application of quality control, quality assurance and handover best practice strategies and interventions.
    Experience of using digital systems to support quality and completions record keeping for projects
    Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Asite
    Good Construction/Engineering Industry Knowledge
    Working and demonstratable understanding of Electrical and mechanical standards
    Working and demonstratable understanding of Quality Assurance Processes
    Working and demonstratable understanding of standards linked to Network Rail
