    Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to take the next step in your career? West Berkshire Council is seeking an Assistant Team Manager to join our dedicated Education Services Service, based at Market Street Offices. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative environment, making a real difference to the lives of children and young people in our community.

    As the Assistant Team Manager Occupational Therapy, you will work closely with the Team Manager to provide effective leadership and management to the Occupational Therapy team. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality services, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Team Manager in the day-to-day operation of the service
  • Providing professional guidance and supervision to the Occupational Therapy team
  • Undertaking assessments and reviews of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote integrated working
  • To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Extensive experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably within an educational or children's services setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014
