    Zodiac Maritime is an international ship operating company providing a full range of management services for a wide and diverse fleet of commercial ships, spanning containership to tankers, bulk carriers to PCTCs, and a growing orderbook focused on dual-fuel vessels to improve overall fleet energy efficiency.

    Position: Marine Procurement & Logistics Officer

    Contract Type: FTC - Maternity Cover

    Reporting to: Head of Procurement & Logistics

    Overview of the role

    The achievement of optimal supplier performance, quality and pricing outcomes; effective planning and risk reduction; tangible cost-savings; developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships; commercially astute negotiations and contract management, will be critical to the success of the Marine Procurement function.

    In accordance with the requirements of the Technical Managers and internal procedures, you will be responsible for the sourcing of high-quality spares and parts, in the most cost and time efficient manners, for the respective fleet.

    Key Responsibilities and Primary Deliverables

    · Responsible for supply of technical Stores, Spares and Provisions.

    · Responsible for the complete procurement cycle for the assigned fleet when obtaining enough quotations or ordering as per agreed pricing with the company suppliers.

    · Monitoring and making sure that Ships Master and Chief Engineer are processing the Stores and Spares requisitioning and ordering according to the company Supply procedure in a cost-effective manner. Provide the vessels with purchasing guidance, high-risk ports and approved local ship chandlers.

    · Providing all necessary shipping instructions and coordinating the logistics for connecting the orders to the vessels.

    · Using the procurement system in complete scope and making sure all necessary filings and records are completed for smooth follow up and visibility of the assigned fleet supply.

    · Liaising with the Technical Manager the need and scope and respectively obtained needed approvals and placing all orders.

    · Verifying all invoices and processing the variances with the Technical Managers.

    · Keeping abreast of the new product information.

    · Monitoring the performance of the approved suppliers including the feedback and supplier evaluation from the Master and Chief Engineer.

    · Updating pricing and sourcing new suppliers including feedback and supplier evaluation from the Master and Chief Engineer.

    · Updating pricing and sourcing new suppliers to be added to the Company list.

    · Attend Master and Chief Engineers briefing joining the assigned fleet.

    Skills Profile

    Relevant Experience and Qualifications

    · A minimum of 3 years' experience within the Maritime Industry is a requirement for this role.

    · Marine Procurement, with demonstrated experience in category management would be an advantage.

    · Strong market awareness and in-depth understanding of maritime supply chain components, regulations, market conditions, trade documentation and insurances.

    · Demonstrated experience in concluding successful negotiations with global suppliers and vendors.

    · Clear, precise and confident in verbal and written communication to support credibility and position of expertise.

    · Commercial aptitude and ability.

    · Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively build and maintain sustainable relationships with key contacts, both internally and externally.

    · Well-developed numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with strategic thinking ability, to support decisions with sound reasoning and judgement.

    · Positive attitude, strong work ethic, collaborative in style and excellent communication skills.

    · Strong focus on delivering quality and meeting deadlines. A successful track record in dealing with a broad set of activities within a fast-paced environment, whilst managing ambiguity and pressure well.

    · Procurement or Marine Engineering related degree or equivalent.

    · Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply or an equivalent professional body would be an advantage.

    · Marine engineering background would be an advantage.
