    Background

    CityVentures is the name given to the university entrepreneurship services and the startup ecosystem which serves students, graduates and the City of London region. Our purpose is to improve social mobility through entrepreneurship and help entrepreneurs build successful businesses that solve big problems.

    CityVentures offers a wide range of services including entrepreneurship education and business support across the entire startup lifecycle from initial idea to scale ups. We also have two workspaces in the City: Better Space (an affordable workspace for social enterprises based in Islington) and City Launch Lab (an incubator for student and graduate startups).

    We are hiring Partnership & Social Impact Manager to lead Better Space and our partnership with the London Borough of Islington to deliver on our social impact objectives, and also to play a key role in enabling and supporting the CityVentures startup ecosystem partners.

    Responsibilities

    The Partnership and Social Impact Manager will play a key role leading Better Space and our strategic partnership with the London Borough of Islington. They will represent Better Space to our members and, oversee the membership pipeline and the programme of events and activities delivered by, or through, Better Space. They will also play an important role in strategic engagement and supporting the CityVentures partner network. Reporting to the Head of Student Entrepreneurship they will be an important part of the CityVentures leadership team and will also have opportunities to work closely with colleagues across the university.

    Person Specification

    The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience. They will have a strong interest in entrepreneurship and social impact businesses, management experience, and experience of partnership working or business development. They will be a confident and credible communicator who can effectively represent CityVentures to internal and external stakeholders and is able to build strong relationships based on trust and delivery. They will have a growth mindset and will be able to create and sustain opportunities that help CityVentures achieve its objectives and also deliver benefits for our members and entrepreneurs in the City of London region.
