    LGIM Private Credit has grown its activities in Real Estate Debt ('RED') in recent years and has developed a position as a leading institutional investor in this area. Our RED strategy is focused to senior debt investment lending to a wide range of borrowers and sector types (offices, logistics, industrial, BTR, PRS, student accommodation, retail, healthcare and hotels) across the UK and Western Europe. Transaction sizes vary from £25m - £400m+ and loan terms of years. Funding is on behalf of LGIM internal and external clients and through external funds.

    The Investment Manager's role is integral to supporting the continued business expansion within a team that is currently small relative to its AUM targets and the complexity of opportunities.
    • Reporting to the Head of Real Estate Debt, UK & Europe, the role involves fully supporting the origination and execution of investment opportunities for Real Estate Debt that are suitable for LGIM clients and external fund clients.
    • This role involves sourcing new business and building relationships internally and with market counterparties to access a broad pool of new real estate loan opportunities and filtering these to provide prospective lending opportunities that can be recommended to clients.
    • Taking the transactional lead on all new loan opportunities, including their review, preparing and/or oversight of Term Sheets, suitable loan structuring and liaising with the client.
    • Due diligence, credit and investment assessment and preparation of investment paper submissions to Private Credit Investment Committee and any other governance committee required, presenting to such committees where appropriate.
    • Work as part of the team in negotiating and executing transactions in line with client requirements to obtain best value.
    • Where investments are approved, provide the necessary transaction booking support and assist Asset Management in pro-actively managing existing investments through engagement with borrowers and review of financial and other relevant information.
    • Support specific team focus areas, including the externalisation of client funds, notably through the SIAF Private Credit fund, new RED funds, other segregated mandates and Team ESG strategies.
    • Sharing knowledge and support to more junior team members to advance their development and skill sets.
    Qualifications
    • A collaborative and partnering approach to working with investment management clients and market counterparties.
    • Flexible & outcome oriented - within a growing business, have the appetite and capability to work on a variety of initiatives and real estate debt opportunities.
    • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience of writing and presenting information.
    • Organised, proactive and timely in approach with a strong work rate.
    • Diligence and accuracy in terms of data analysis and written reporting.
    • Knowledge and experience of real estate senior debt lending, structuring and execution.
