    Production Worker

    Full Time

    6-month fixed contract

    £17.52 per hour

    37 Hours Per week, 8 hour shifts each day

    Manpower has an exciting opportunity for a number of Production Workers to join the team at our Client site in Yeovil based on an initial 6-month fixed term contract. Working as part of an established team you will be responsible for the CNC turning of Aerospace equipment in accordance with manufacturing instructions and customer requirements.

    As a CNC turner you will manufacture parts from start to finish by centre lathe turning and stamping the finished products to confirm the quality of the assembly. You will be required to interpret engineer drawings, following process layout and documentation procedures.

    The ideal candidate will have knowledge of machining, specifically CNC & Manual Turning, knowledge of hand measuring equipment such as Vernier, Micrometer, Thread and Plug Gauges and the ability to work in a customer focused environment.

    The position of CNC Turner holds the following responsibilities:

    • Centre Lathe Turning will entail manufacturing of parts from start to finish, to Aerospace

    Specifications (this will entail setting and running of bespoke work on 2 Axis Lathes)

    • OCQ - Operator Control of Quality (i.e. Stamping to confirm quality of assemblies are to

    Honeywell and Customer standards)

    • To achieve on time delivery by ensuring work is completed on time and to the required standard
    • Interpreting engineering drawings, following the process layout and documentation procedures

    Qualifications & Experience Required:

    • Engineering Apprenticeship (Desirable but not Essential)
    • Knowledge of machining, specifically CNC & Manual Turning or relative machining experience
    • Knowledge of hand measuring equipment, such as Vernier, Micrometer, Thread and Plug Gauges
    • High standard of Health & Safety

    Attributes/Skills Required:

    • The position requires the applicant to have an understanding of Aerospace practice

    and the significance of the safety critical work undertaken

    • PC literate
    • Any further training requirements will be provided:- PC skills, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, 5S, HOS Principles and general Health & Safety

    MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Full BPSS* Screening (*Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, i.e. UK DBS and Drugs Screening.
