We are looking for a highly motivated UK experienced and HCPC registered Sonographer (Evenings/Weekends) with high standards, who is passionate about their work and committed to the pursuit of excellence to join our developing clinical team at BHRUT.

Essential Requirements:


  • Post graduate ultrasound qualifications.
  • HCPC, or other relevant professional registration, preferably with a strong NHS History.

The post-holder participates in the provision of a high quality Diagnostic Ultrasound Service to the Trust, supporting the Ultrasound Managers in the day-to-day organisation of the department and accepting responsibility for designated areas of work.

As a band 7 sonographer, you will be expected to produce high-quality diagnostic images and reports as well as providing a supportive learning environment for sonographers in-training.

As part of the established audit culture, you will also be expected to support participation and leadership of the centrally registered audit and continuous improvement programmes.


About us:


We are a very large, ever evolving Radiology Department consisting of 16 General Ultrasound rooms, 9 Obstetric rooms, FMU unit, 5 CT scanners, 6 MRI scanners as well as a dedicated Interventional Theatre Suite.

The trust ultrasound department caters for a wide range of services including obstetrics, general/surgical, urology, gynaecology, paediatrics, head, neck (including diagnostic and therapeutic intervention), contrast enhanced ultrasound, and musculoskeletal (including therapeutic injections).


Important Notice:


  • A Recruitment and Retention Premium (RRP) of £5000 per annum (pro rata if part time) will be paid. You will receive this payment in your salary each month. This will be reviewed annually.
