An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, forward-thinking Rehabilitation Assistant to work at the Homerton Transitional Neurological Rehab Unit (HTNRU) on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2024HTNRU is a 7 bedded neurological rehab unit which supports people with neurological conditions to return to the community.
The post holder will carry out therapy sessions under the guidance of the MDT and these sessions can take place on the unit, in the community, and in their own homes.
The rehab assistant will lead individual and group activities. In addition, the role includes supporting the day to day care of clients.There will be an administration component to the job, supporting the therapists and nurses to complete paperwork and to liaise with outside agencies.
The post involves working weekdays and weekend shifts including long days and standard day shifts.In return for your enthusiasm for the role, we offer support through supervision and training opportunities either on the unit or through Homerton Education and Training service.
Key duties include:
- Support the provision of interdisciplinary rehabilitation for clients working with clients aged 16 onwards with complex physical and neurological disabilities (including Stroke, Head injury and some progressive neurological conditions)
- Participate in all aspects of therapy treatment both on the unit and in the community for clients with neurological disabilities under the supervision of the therapists involved.
- Support the day to day care of clients
- Carry out a range of other duties including administration, maintenance of equipment and general tasks.
