    Role Overview:

    We are seeking a passionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in speech, language, and communication to join our team.

    As an integral member of our staff, you will play a key role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students.

    Your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored support and assistance to students with speech, language, and communication difficulties, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to thrive academically and personally.


    Key Responsibilities:


    Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with speech, language, and communication difficulties, both within the classroom and in specialized intervention sessions.

    Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and speech and language therapy programs, under the guidance of the SENCO and speech and language therapists.

    Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create and adapt learning materials and resources to meet the specific needs of students.

    Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to achieve their goals.
    Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and SENCO to inform planning and intervention strategies.
    Support students during social and lunchtime activities, promoting positive social interactions and communication skills development.
    Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with speech, language, and communication difficulties

    Requirements:
    Previous experience working with children or young people with speech, language, and communication difficulties, preferably within an educational setting.
    Understanding of speech and language therapy techniques and interventions.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
    Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the development of young people with SEN.
    Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs and challenges of students.
    Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, speech and language therapy, or a related field would be advantageous
