    Job Posting Title- Derivative Oversight Associate 2

    Purpose of Role

    State Street is in the process of enhancing it's outsource service provision through Client projects by deploying leading edge technology and services for its clients. SSC has demonstrated excellent success in recent times with major client wins covering in excess of 10 locations worldwide, including UK, Europe, South Africa and USA, for the outsource arrangements of Fund Accounting and Investment Operations. SSC are increasing its talent to support the planning, development and roll-out of the Enterprise project within the Investment Operations arena and require keen and experienced investment operations business professionals to play a key role in the delivery of a successful solution.

    The team is a small team, overseeing the offshored activities of ETD derivatives.

    The purpose of the role will be to oversee the offshore ETD team ensuring that all ETD processing in relation to trades and position are confirmed with the market, marked to market with internal records, margin payments processed and are reconciled to external counterparts. Concentrating but not exclusively for new client and it's on boarding into production.

    Specific Duties:

    For all current and in-scope future clients:

    • Oversight of offshore ETD team demonstrating the ability to work on own initiative.
    • Oversight of the offshore team performing the internal positions reconciliations against the clearing broker ensuring resolution of issues.
    • Oversight of offshore team ensuring all mark to market internal system records are completed and resolved
    • Oversight of offshore team ensuring all internal records are reconciled to external counterparts.
    • Liaising directly with internal and external clients, custodian and brokers as required, in respect of all derivative queries.
    • To produce and supply accurate and timely data to external parties in accordance with procedures.
    • To adhere to Client and Internal reporting deadlines for respective regulations.
    • Maintain communications with line management.
    • Assist the manager by providing statistics and Key Performance Indicators for the team.
    • Active involvement in the implementation of new processes and the improvement of existing ones.
    • To perform role in accordance with internal procedures and compliance requirements.
    • Assist in the deployment of new tranches of Global clients for all ETD aspects, including Clearing Broker, Custodian and Fund Accounting.

    Desired skills and experience will include:

    • Minimal knowledge of ETD products and markets, the margining and reconciliation process
    • Experience in Derivatives.
    • Understanding of standards, methodologies, processes, systems and technology necessary to support investment management operations.
    • Good analytical, consultative interviewing skills and ability to analyse on the spot.
    • Good team working skills.
    • Strong writing, communication and presentation skills to audiences of different sizes and levels of seniority.
    • Must be self-motivated, adaptable and show initiative in different circumstances and under pressure.
    • Flexibility in working outside of your responsibilities and areas of expertise.
    • PC literate – Word & Excel skills necessary.

    • Requirement for business travel domestically and possibly at short notice
