Unity Works has an exciting opportunity available for an
Adult Community Learning Tutor. You will join us on a
full-time, contract basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of
£28.35 per hour.

Who are we?


Unity Works is a specialist not-for-profit service dedicated to supporting people with a learning disability and autism to gain skills, achieve qualifications and secure jobs, so they can reach their full potential.


About the Adult Community Learning Tutor role:

We are currently seeking a qualified tutor who is dynamic and motivated to support individuals with a learning disability to develop their independence and employability skills.


The tutor roles are relief contracts currently - hours would be decided each term so people would be booked to work delivering a course or two over the whole term.

Groups are targeted at 8 learners and would be maxed at 1- So in terms of hours, Tutors would deliver two hours a week for 8 weeks, looking to offer fixed-term contracts each term.

As our
Adult Community Learning Tutor,you will
be responsible for setting up and delivering high quality and innovative workshop style courses including:


Employability:


  • Identifying and developing personal and employability skills

Health & Wellbeing:


  • Developing skills to lead a healthy, informed, and independent lifestyle




ICT:


  • Developing skills in IT and reducing the risk of digital isolation and using popular programmes
  • Tutors will be responsible for developing, planning and delivering sessions that take into account the individual learning needs of the people we support. They will also be responsible for progression monitoring and final reporting. Tutors will be expected to work with other professionals to recruit new referrals and identify key pathways for participants at the end of courses.

What do you need to become our Adult Community Learning Tutor?

  • A commitment to improving the lives of adults with a learning disability, as well as a flexible, innovative and personcentred approach
  • Proactive and have the ability to create engaging sessions online and in person that empower people to reach their potential. Exceptionally organised and take ownership of learner data in line with contract requirements
  • Must have an AET or teaching qualification.
