    We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Private Sector Housing Team as an Environmental Health Technical Officer - Sizewell C .

    Your role

    Sizewell C is a major infrastructure project that will involve the influx of a considerable workforce over the next years. The impact on local housing will be considerable and work has begun to identify how to expand the number of bed spaces in East Suffolk to accommodate this challenge and to support residents who's housing options will be impacted by the construction project.

    This role will work with the Private Sector Housing Team to support delivery of the Sizewell C Accommodation Plan linked to the Accommodation Strategy and Deed of Obligation as it pertains to housing.

    This role will help to deliver an ambitious programme to bring back into use some of the long-term empty homes within 45 minutes commute of Sizewell C. Using the full range of statutory powers available, applied in accordance with the Council's balanced enforcement policy, the work will prioritise homes in these areas. The post holder will need to combine excellent organisational, data analytical and IT skills, with good communication, problem solving and practical enforcement to meet the varied circumstances likely to arise.

    What you will need

    The candidate will have In depth knowledge of building construction and good working knowledge of a wide range of housing legislation, with in-depth knowledge of specific legislation relating to PSH activity.

    We are looking for committed individuals with a background in Housing or similar experience to help us develop an ambitious programme to expand the housing options and provide advice and support to all those affected. Applicants will need to combine excellent organisational, data analytical and IT skills, with good communication, problem solving and practical skills to meet the varied circumstances likely to arise with each of these job roles.
