    An international law firm are looking for an Associate with between 1 and 5 Years' PQE to join their leading Corporate Tax Team, based out their Birmingham office.


    This firm are open to applications from both general Corporate Transactional Associates keen to specialise (and be trained) in Corporate Tax, and Associates already practicing in Corporate Tax (any field) who are keen to join a leading firm with ambitious growth plans for its Corporate Tax team (and with a clear route to Partnership).


    This Firm are open to hear from general Corporate Transactional Associates who are keen to specialise in Corporate Tax, working at an international law firm and on leading mandates.

    Perhaps you're currently an M&A Associate who likes the pace of transactional work but is looking for a bit more - a corporate role with an incredibly complex subject matter which requires its lawyers to take an academic approach to the law and build out an advisory practice, all whilst being given all training required.

    This practice area is a strategic growth area for the firm and is underweight at the Senior Associate / Partnership level – this Firm are actively looking for applicants keen to join the team and make Partner, with a clear pathway to get there.

    Hybrid working on offer at a firm and team with a demonstrable track record of investing in training and development and nurturing talent – much of which will be provided on a 1-2-1 basis.

    This is an exciting time to join the team and work closely with senior lawyers with a particular specialism in employee share schemes, and employment taxes, but who undertake work across the entire tax spectrum.


    They frequently advise clients on the design and implementation of a wide range of all-employee and discretionary share plans, from tax-advantaged share option arrangements to bespoke share and cash-based structures.

    They also provide specialist advice in connection with wider employment-related securities and employment tax issues in the context of M&A transactions, and on income tax, CGT and IHT issues arising in the context of employee benefit trusts.

    The team support clients with high-quality, expert corporate tax and VAT advice across the entire spectrum.

    corporate re-organisations or demergers, mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, tax planning for entrepreneurs, property investment, property development, share schemes and management incentivisation, employee share schemes, asset finance and banking and lending.

    The Tax team consists of 10 Corporate Tax lawyers and two trainees. It currently comprises two Partners, one Of Counsel, three Senior Associates, one Associate, two solicitors and one tax apprentice.
