Shortlisted candidates will be sent a detailed job description and will be invited for an initial online interview.

Introducing Manor Farm Park & Woodlands

Manor Farm Park & Woodlands is a successful family farm park situated on the borders of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. This is a newly created role within a family-run business, with visitor experience, team morale and return on investment at its core.

In the last five years, visitor numbers to Manor Farm have increased from 40,000 in 2019 to 105,000 in 2023. Significant recent investments have been made in indoor adventure play equipment and a dinosaur trail. The two owners are now looking to increase visitor numbers to 150,000. This will be achieved initially by encouraging an increased number of mid-week visits, with a medium-term plan to expand car parking in order to accommodate more visitors to the farm's larger events during school holidays. We are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead the team during this next phase of growth.

    The perfect candidate

Owning the day-to-day operations and commercial strategies, the General Manager will be responsible for ensuring the overall success of the farm park by overseeing all aspects of its operations, financial performance, staff management and visitor experience.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Have a proven track record in management and hands-on experience of a duty management role in a front of house, customer-facing environment.
    • Be a highly motivated self-starter who works well as part of a team, as well as taking responsibility for sole goals and projects.
    • Possess excellent communication skills, with an ability to work well under pressure and provide strong leadership to our team.
    • Have experience managing staff, including recruitment, training and reviewing.
    • Be innovative and able to inspire our visitor offering in line with the ethics/values of the brand.
    • Be a creative thinker with a positive approach to problem solving.
    • Have strong commercial and financial acumen, along with a solid understanding of gross/profit margins and a desire to surpass targets.
