HOURS PER WEEK: 2 x 30/40 hours per week (1 week on / 1 week off)

ROLE OVERVIEW


Reporting to the Port Manager you will be responsible for the security of the pier buildings and vessels connected to the port, for the call-out of crew in the event of an emergency or bad weather, overseeing a telephone watch in case of emergency call-outs by Fire, Police and Ambulance, monitoring and adjusting the gangway as necessary to maintain a safe access to the vessels.


You must be customer focused, have a clear understanding of the customer interface, and have a proactive approach to customer care.


FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY TASKS

  • The security of pier buildings and vessels
  • Maintaining a telephone watch in case of emergency callouts by Fire, Police and Ambulance
  • Callout of crew in the event of an emergency or bad weather which would require the ferries to leave port for more sheltered conditions.
  • Any other duties required by the Port Manager
