Instructor/Technician in STEM (Automotive) at our
Chichester campus.

You will join us on a
full time, permanent basisand in return, we will offer a competitive salary of
£20,070 - £21,700 per annum.


The Instructor/Technician in STEM (Automotive) role:


As our
Instructor/Technician in STEM (Automotive), you will provide technical support to staff and students, including the safe use of equipment.


You will be responsible for the daily operation of the workshop equipment, teaching resources and the preparation and supervision of designated areas.


Key Responsibilities of our Instructor/Technician in STEM (Automotive):

  • Undertaking administration related to course requirements and providing reports and statistics as required
  • Participating in marketing activities and promoting the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment
  • Liaising with Additional Support in specific cases to ensure students get appropriate support
  • Participating in the curriculum area, College, employer/parent functions, reviews, meetings and promotional activities, as required
  • Organising daily activities within the learning environment, including the preparation and maintenance of resources, services and housekeeping
  • Providing assistance to individuals or groups of students within the learning environment
  • Implementing and maintaining the regulations of the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health legislation, including the reviews of health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace and undertaking risk assessments
  • Participating in course review activities and the generation and implementation of new resources and action plans
  • Monitoring and maintaining equipment and preparing replacement plans
  • Ordering and stock taking materials and equipment and providing feedback to suppliers as appropriate

Our ideal Instructor/Technician in STEM (Automotive) should have the below skills and experience:

  • Working knowledge of the relevant vocational area
  • Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
