Band 8a Clinical Lead for Intestinal Rehabilitation and NutritionFull time 37.5 WTE, fixed term (1 year maternity cover)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as the Clinical Lead Dietitian for Intestinal Rehabilitation and Nutrition for one year.
The postholder will work as part of the Gastroenterology Dietetics team and will be responsible for delivering nutritional care to patients under the home parenteral nutrition (HPN) service at GOSH.
The clinical work includes attending MDTs, outpatient clinics and follow up phone calls. Project work is encouraged as part of the post.The Dietitians are responsible for delivering high-quality nutritional care to paediatric patients from birth to 19 years of age.
You must have exceptional communication, organisational, and prioritisation skills and extensive experience of paediatric parenteral nutrition and managing complex gastroenterology patients.

Providing expert practice in the highly complex specialist field of intestinal failure and rehabilitation and complex GI disorders
Providing expert advice in the highly complex specialist parenteral nutrition supporting the field of intestinal failure and rehabilitation and complex GI disorders.
Responsibility for the organisation, training and support of specialist dietitians in all aspects of nutritional management in the highly complex field of gastroenterology and intestinal rehabilitation.
Maintenance and improvement of knowledge about current best practice and developments in paediatric nutrition and dietetics, employing evidence-based practice wherever possibleEnsuring a consistent and reliable service for all children through assessment of the patients' needs. Making clinical decisions regarding the necessary nutritional support and dietary interventions for all children in the caseload

Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent postgraduate qualification
Significant experience as a band 7 Paediatric Dietitian.
Extensive experience in managing children with complex GI disorders and requiring Home Parenteral Nutrition
Knowledge of research methodology, audit, database management
Membership of relevant medical societies e.g. Prioritisation and time management skills
Line management experience
