Description

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is seeking to recruit a Locum Consultant Lower Limb Arthroplasty Surgeon to replace a retiring colleague.

The post holder will be expected to deliver high quality arthroplasty service to patients referred from General Practitioners, Triage services and other Secondary or Tertiary care providers.

At the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, the Consultant would join the Arthroplasty group within the Large Joints department.

The current team comprises 10 colleagues with 3 having a particular interest in the management of Young Adult Hip conditions.

The post-holder would have an interest in both Hip and Knee arthroplasty surgery to include complex primaries and revisions.

A flexible approach to working with colleagues and other members of the Multidisciplinary team is expected to ensure maximal efficiency within the department.

The department undertakes a comprehensive range of hip and knee surgical procedures.

It is intended that the appointee will have a particular interest in complex surgery including revisions so appropriate demonstration of higher-level training is essential.


The individual appointed to the post will have competed orthopaedic training and have completed or be undertaking a training Fellowship in Lower Limb Arthroplasty surgery.

Flexible and less than full-time working can easily be accommodated.
