    Part Time - 30 Hours Per Week

    We are looking for enthusiastic and dependable people tojoin and become part of our team. We have opportunities within the ForensicCare group at Newton Lodge to work within a hard-working, highly motivateddomestic and catering ward orderly team within a medium secure setting.

    The team provide a polite, professional, and efficientdomestic and catering service for our service users staff and visitors.

    You will be required to work to, and maintain, standards asset by the NHS cleaning specifications. You will be supported by a fulltraining package and induction.

    Enthusiasm and dedication to provide a clean safeenvironment is essential.

    Main duties of the job

    Therole provides a high standard of domestic, catering, and general duties withina hospital environment.

    Provisionof cleaning and domestic duties with requirement to work to, and maintain,standards as set by the NHS cleaning specifications.

    Toregenerate prepare and serve meals in accordance with set standards.Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards and ensuring all work is conductedin line with health and safety.

    Maintainingup to date documentation which contributes to the high-quality servicedelivery.

    The successfulcandidate will have excellent communication skills demonstrating a drive tomaintain a consistent high service standard.

    Job responsibilities

    JOB SUMMARY

    To provide a high standard of domestic, catering and general household duties within a ward environment for people with mental health problems. To assist and monitor patients, in cleaning and tidying their own bedroom environment. To liaise with ward staff in the allocation of ward based cleaning tasks for service users. To monitor, encourage and assist the service users to ensure that an acceptable standard of work is maintained.

    KEY RESULT AREAS:

  • Service user contact
  • To assist patients in their activities of daily living, ensuring that they have adequate supplies and assistance to maintain their personal standards.
  • To build a good therapeutic relationship with service users, in order to encourage and assist them, in taking care of their own living space.
  • To immediately report any anxieties or concerns to the nurse in charge of the ward and domestic supervisor.
  • To ensure the ward or department is cleaned and maintained in a manner which promotes positive therapeutic interactions.
  • Monitor and report to nurse in charge of a ward area and the domestic supervisor, any concerns or identified problems, in terms of a service users dietary needs.
  • Monitor and advise patients on healthy eating options where required.
  • Alert nurse in charge to any food item found, which contravenes units banned and dangerous items policy.
  • Ensure that ward duties for all patients are allocated in a fiar and just manner.
  • Ensure appropriate budget is effectively managed to ensure patients receive agreed recompense for completion of ward tasks. Completing payment authorisation forms as required.

  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
  • Basic literacy & numeric skills
  • Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a demanding work environment
