**Teaching Assistant

Milk Education are currently working with a Primary School in Hindley who are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 child on a one-to-one basis who has behaviour needs.

This role is to start as soon as possible and is covering an on-going sickness with the possibility to continue until the end of the summer term (July This Teaching Assistant role is working Monday to Friday each week between 08:30am

  • 15:30pm.


The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is confident to work on a one-to-one basis and who is supportive of the child's needs.


The school are looking for applicants who have previous experience working with children in a school or child care setting.

Previous employment or volunteering experience as a Teaching Assistant can be within the past 5 years and can include Nurseries, YouthCenters or working as a Support Worker with SEND Adults or Children.

The ideal person will be inclusive, passionate, engaging, empathetic and supportive whilst using their initiative on a daily basis. Good communication skills are a must whilst working alongside other support staff and supporting the class teacher.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Working one to one with a KS1 child with Behaviour needs
  • Supporting the class teacher on a daily basis with what tasks they require you to undertake
  • Build a positive and supportive relationship with all children, colleagues and parents
  • Use your initiative and uphold strong behaviour management
  • Supporting groups of children and working on a onetoone basis
  • Adapting your support style to suit all individual needs

In order to be considered for this role we require you meet the following criteria:

  • Strong English and Maths Skills
  • Previous experience of volunteering or working with Children in the past 5 years
  • Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
  • Two suitable references covering the last 2 years
