Are you up for the challenge?


As an
Insurance Adviser, you'll support key activities in defining and delivering the overarching insurance strategy for National Grid and provide insurance, claims and risk management advice and support.


Working closely with our Group Insurance Manager you'll oversea the data and analysis that supports the annual (re)insurance renewal activity to deliver efficient risk transfer solutions across the Group.


You'll provide insurance and risk advice for new projects and technologies as required and be responsible for identifying insurable risks opportunities and cost-effective insurance solutions.


This role can be based out of our
London or Warwick office, and we'd hope to see you at least two days per week but you're welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you.

What You'll Do:


  • Input to (re)insurance strategies and solutions for designated areas of coverage as it applies to the purchase of insurance coverage, the appointment of captive managers, (re)insurance brokers, claim administrators and other services to support the insurance programmes.
  • Lead on (re)insurance renewal processes and activities as required.
  • Input to Risk Registers, draft controls and compliance returns.
  • Collection and analysis of data to support insurance activities.
  • Review and negotiate contractual insurance obligations placed on the organisation.
  • Ensure insurance risks are managed and reported to appropriate forums effectively.
  • Provide support to the Group Insurance Manager in daytoday interactions with the group's captive insurance companies.
  • Provide insurance advice to businesses and stakeholders.
  • Maintain an uptodate knowledge of insurance market influences and developments and share across the team.

What You'll Have:


  • Experience within the insurance and risk management profession with a solid understanding of the global insurance market.
  • Knowledge of all of the usual lines of coverage purchased by a company the size and nature of the Company with a detailed understanding in some of these classes.
  • Experience preparing Risk Registers and compliance returns.
  • Excellent communication skills as will have interfaces a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • An ability to critically review diverse sources of information and data, draw conclusions and produce compelling insurance and claims analysis, reports, presentations, and strategies
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.

What You'll Get:

£40,000 - £49,000 depending on experience
