    Description

    Our client are working collaboratively with primary schools to deliver exceptional before and after school care that is innovative, inspiring and above all a safe environment for all in our care. Your role will be to provide activities in a safe, secure and fun environment, providing an outstanding service for busy parents.

    The company successfully run full Wraparound provision in primary schools in the Cambridge and Newmarket area. Their Wraparound centres are Ofsted registered and provide high quality out of school care for the parents. With this in mind we are looking for an outstanding applicant with experience working with children in a school environment.

    This is also a great opportunity for students studying at college/university within the Cambridge area to gain some valuable experience working in Primary schools, if your course is linked to the education industry. Schedules can be flexible and work around your studying hours.

    · Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child

    · Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage

    · Ability to use a variety of techniques to communicate with both children and adults clearly and successfully

    · Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children

    · Willing to undertake any relevant training including first aid and food and hygiene

    · Have high personal expectations and dedication to achieve the best with the children we care for

    The successful candidate will need to:

    · Have good Literacy and Numeracy skills, able to support children in reading writing and maths as they will be allocated time to continue with their learning during the session.

    · Will be able to prepare healthy snacks for the children

    · Participate in a range of activities with the children during sessions both inside and outside.

    · Be able to assist with the planning of activities, supporting and engaging with children during the sessions.

    · Will have a general understanding of play work principals and seven characteristics of learning

    Desirable:

    · Appropriate Level 2 (or above) qualification (Child Care related)

    · Previous experience working as a Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator or similar

    · Experience of working within a play-based setting

    · Ability to work on own initiative

    · Appropriate child protection training

    · Current 12-hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate

    . Food Hygiene Certificate

    Career pathway in place for staff succession, leading to more senior & management level positions.

    Successful candidates will undergo constant continued professional and personal development and will be expected to attend additional external training to enhance their knowledge.
