I have a fantastic opportunity for a
PASSIONATE and
COMMITTED individual to join a therapeutic children's residential service in Rudford, Gloucestershire.

You would be supporting young people between the ages of years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) as Children's Residential Support Worker.

Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full drivers licence_


We are looking for a

MOTIVATED individual who wants to make a difference to the lives of young people; to enable them to develop socially, emotionally and behaviorally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.


No two days are ever the same as a Children's Residential Support Worker, so you need to be happy to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Salary:
Full time £20,681 - £25,000


Location:
Rudford, Gloucestershire (GL2 postcode)


Contract:
Permanent


Hours: 39 hours a week

Shift pattern: 7:30am - 2:15pm / 1:45pm - 10:30pm (Mixture of early and late shifts) NO NIGHTS

Responsibilities of a Children's Residential Support Worker:

  • To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
  • To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
  • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and to promote their independence and wellbeing.
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people.
  • Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an uptodate knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
  • Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.

Requirements:


  • Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker, or with Young People is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
  • You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
  • You must be over the age of 2
  • You must be able to commute to Rudford, Gloucestershire.
