Floor Layer Multi-Skilled Operative Care Homes, up to £35,000 per year

Excelcare are a privately owned Care Home group looking to recruit a Floor Layer and Carpet fitter who has multi-trade skills. We have been established for over 34 years and operate in 31 care homes across - South London, Milton Keynes, Cambridge, and Essex. Our Support Office is based in Bromley, Kent.

We are dedicated to maintaining high standards in the properties we manage and are seeking a versatile and skilled Multi-Trades Person to become a key member of our maintenance team. If you have expertise in floor laying, carpet fitting and general multi trades we would like to hear from you. This role requires a versatile professional with an eye for detail, who can identify and address a range of property needs efficiently. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall well-being

and living conditions for the people who live in our services.

What we need from you:

· To have excellent carpentry and/or plumbing skills.

· Experience of working with polysafe / vinyl flooring and carpets

· Access to your own tools - all materials will be provided.

· Reliability and punctuality with excellent customer service skills

· Be a strong team player with a good work ethic.

· Car Driver

· A DBS check – a criminal records check as you will be working in the care homes where vulnerable older people are supported.

Responsibilities:

· Measuring up floor space

· Calculating materials and amount required

· Preparing the base and laying sub-flooring where necessary

· Clearing spaces and removing doors

· Removing old flooring as required

· Cleaning, levelling, and sealing the work area.

· Gluing or nailing underlay into place

· Installing the final floor finish

· Plumbing and/or Carpentry skills to ensure general maintenance is kept up to high standard.
