    About The Role

    Location:Castle Donington, East Midlands / Flexible working

    Salary: £35,000 – £43,000 (dependent on skills and experience)
    Contract Type:Full time, permanent, 37.5 hours per week

    As a Senior Ecologist, you'll lead and deliver projects to our clients with excellence and
    efficiency, all while upholding the highest standards of professional integrity. You'll play a
    pivotal role in independently conducting site surveys, mentoring junior staff, producing
    technical reports, and expanding your expertise into exciting new areas like biodiversity net
    gain.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Project management.
    • Supporting clients through all project stages.
    • Planning and undertaking ecological surveys.
    • Liaising and negotiating with statutory agencies and other stakeholders.
    • Producing a wide range of technical reports including Preliminary Ecological Appraisal and
      Ecological Impact Assessment.
    • Preparation of fee quotes and tenders.
    • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
    • Deliver work to a high professional standard and act within the CIEEM Professional Code of
      Conduct at all times.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Relevant degree in Ecology or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience.
    • Strong knowledge of ecology, legislation, and best practice guidelines in England.
    • Membership of appropriate professional body (e.g., CIEEM) or willingness to apply.
    • Experience in Biodiversity Net Gain and Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA), or keen to
      develop skills in these areas.
    • Ability to undertake UKHab Surveys independently and/or holding protected species
      licence(s).
    • Interest in project management, client liaison, tendering, and business development
      activities.
    • Hold a full UK driving licence.
    • Eligible to work in the UK.
