- A recognised design qualification.
- Ideally NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate.
- Member of the APS / IOSH or equivalent professional body.
- Working knowledge of CDM2015 and associated guidance (L153)
- 5 years' experience in a CDM Advisory / PD role and understanding of the construction and design processes
- Client facing experience and attendances at progress and design meetings
- Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office suite of programmes (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Fully discharge Principal Designer duties as required under CDM2015
- Preparation of all documentation required under CDM2015
- Positive participation at relevant meetings including design workshops
- Management of the pre-construction phase of projects
- Assist the Client by undertaking site inspections, reviewing construction phase plans and notifying the HSE where necessary
- Co-ordinate handover of building manuals and review the health and safety file at completion of projects
- A confident and professional manner
- An ability to show initiative and examples of creativity
- Able to work independently and manage a portfolio of schemes
- Ability to work well as part of a project and consultancy team

Description
Health and Safety Professional to join the team as a Principal Designer in accordance with CDM2015. Candidates will ideally hold the NEBOSH Construction Certificate and have a good understanding of the construction and design processes and applicable health and safety regulations. Candidates with a strong commercial awareness, excellent interpersonal skills and the desire to continue a career in a consultancy environment will be at a distinct advantage.

The role will be based from either our Leeds or Manchester Office and support projects throughout our North and Midlands Region which will entail travel, a Driving Licence is therefore essential.
