    Description

    Health and Safety Professional to join the team as a Principal Designer in accordance with CDM2015. Candidates will ideally hold the NEBOSH Construction Certificate and have a good understanding of the construction and design processes and applicable health and safety regulations. Candidates with a strong commercial awareness, excellent interpersonal skills and the desire to continue a career in a consultancy environment will be at a distinct advantage.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • A recognised design qualification.
    • Ideally NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate.
    • Member of the APS / IOSH or equivalent professional body.

    Experience (essential):

    • Working knowledge of CDM2015 and associated guidance (L153)
    • 5 years' experience in a CDM Advisory / PD role and understanding of the construction and design processes
    • Client facing experience and attendances at progress and design meetings
    • Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office suite of programmes (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Excellent communication skills at all levels

    Responsibilities:

    • Fully discharge Principal Designer duties as required under CDM2015
    • Preparation of all documentation required under CDM2015
    • Positive participation at relevant meetings including design workshops
    • Management of the pre-construction phase of projects
    • Assist the Client by undertaking site inspections, reviewing construction phase plans and notifying the HSE where necessary
    • Co-ordinate handover of building manuals and review the health and safety file at completion of projects

    It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have five years plus experience in a similar role within a consultancy in the construction Industry.

    The role will be based from either our Leeds or Manchester Office and support projects throughout our North and Midlands Region which will entail travel, a Driving Licence is therefore essential.
