    Description

    Job Role:

    Taylor Woodrow are recruiting for a Section Engineer tojoin the joint venture responsible for the construction and delivery of HS2'sOld Oak Common station in North West London. The circa £1bn project will include the delivery of six undergroundplatforms as well as up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western MainLine.

    Reporting intothe Senior Package Manager the Section Engineer will also beresponsible for ensuring that all works, including those of suppliers andsubcontractors are coordinated to deliver on safety, quality and environmentalobjectives.

    Duties:

  • Allocate tasks to SiteEngineers and supervise the task completion.
  • Ensure the Inspectionand Test Plans, and Quality Check Sheets are completed as soon as the checkscan be completed.
  • Oversee engineering requirements demanded in the deliveryof a section of work or on larger projects, of a subcontractor, to meet theconstruction programme.
  • Make effective use ofdocument control to manage distribution of information.
  • Develop and approverelevant procedures specific to their area of works.
  • In association withthe Section Foreman, assess the plant and resource requirements to meet thedemands of site and office-based works.
  • Approve methodstatements and risk assessments and ensure they are being followed throughoutthe works.
  • Ensure Site Engineerscomplete setting out in accordance with design.
  • Ensure Design Drawingsare marked up to reflect works completed as the works are finished.
  • Liaise with otherSection Engineers/Foremen to ensure any clashes on site are managed, to ensurea smooth flow of work.
  • Regularly reviewprocedures to ensure they are as efficient as possible.

  • Previous experience as aSite/Section Engineer is essential
  • Degree qualified and workingtowards institute membership (ICE)
  • Experience in heavy structuresis advantageous
