TACP (UK) Ltd is recruiting a Full time or Part Time Finance Administrator for our busy practice located in the vibrant centre of Cardiff.


Our multi-disciplinary team has a varied and interesting portfolio of major highway, active travel, public realm, schools, renewable energy, ecology, arboriculture, conservation and development projects in the public, private and charity sectors.

We have a range of smaller scale projects such as project evaluations, natural resources management, landscape appraisal, interpretation and wildlife conservation.


Our current workload includes projects throughout Wales, Worcestershire, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, We are looking for someone to manage the financial systems of the office with support from our Financial Systems Manager and Office Manager.

We also are looking for someone who can provide a key contribution to the ongoing development of the company and its staff.


Essential skills and responsibilities include:
Essential Skills

  • Financial Management: Understanding financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This involves preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Proficiency in basic accounting principles, such as debits and credits, financial statements and accounting software (e.g. Sage 50 or similar)
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy is paramount when recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports.
  • Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze financial data and identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies
  • Problem-

Solving Abilities:
The ability to go back over the chain of events to identify the problem and provide a solution.

  • Communication Skills: Effective communication is essential for interacting with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Managing multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities to stay on top of responsibilities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Teamwork: Collaborating with others to collate information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Debt Control chase outstanding invoices
  • Manage hotel bookings, car hire and other expenses
  • Manage office purchasing and creditors
  • Ensure the accurate recording of invoices and fee reconciliations
  • Manage the Subconsultant accounts
  • Purchase ledger control
  • Credit card and bank statement reconciliation
  • Management of petty cash
  • Provide reports as appropriate for the Leadership Team
  • Identify improvements to the financial management and reporting
  • Other tasks as appropriate.

Qualifications:


  • At least 3 years experience within a similar financial environment
  • Working towards Level 2 AAT qualification or an equivalent qualification
  • Good working knowledge of Sage 50 accounting software an advantage

The role will be full time based at our newly refurbished office in the centre of Cardiff. There is potential for the role to develop based on your skills and experience.
