Leisure & Active Lifestyles Manager - The Role:

East Cambridgeshire District Council is seeking an experienced Leisure and Active Lifestyles Manager to oversee to the provision of leisure services within the District and to coordinate the development of facilities and projects that contribute to resident's health and wellbeing and promote active lifestyles.


The Council is about to review its Health and Wellbeing Strategy and requires an enthusiastic and committed individual to contribute to this process, to help shape future provision and manage the delivery of health and wellbeing projects arising from this.


Leisure & Active Lifestyles Manager - Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be required to consult with communities, local stakeholders and partner agencies as necessary with a view to achieving an improved range of facilities and services and fostering a long-term increase in participation in sport and physical activity, which contributes to the Council's wider health and wellbeing objectives
  • You will be responsible for managing the delivery of the Council's Sports Development Programme and supporting the district's independent Leisure Centres in delivering high quality, developmental and sustainable leisure services.
  • As well as administering the Council's Community Grant Schemes, you will provide strategic leisure input on corporate crosscutting initiatives

Leisure & Active Lifestyles Manager - You:

  • You will need to be an effective communicator with the ability to motivate and enthuse others
  • You should be educated to degree level or equivalent
  • You should have a minimum of three years' experience in a related field, including one year's experience in facilities management
