    Description

    Position:
    Key Account Manager

    Package:
    £50,000 - £55,000 pa + Company Car (fuel card) + Commission paid monthly OTE £70k+ pa + 21 days holidays rising to 25 with service plus stats, Pension scheme, Annual company bonus.

    Location:
    Home based nationwide

    Hours:
    Monday – Thursday 8.45 – 17:00, Friday 8.45 – home based)

    Builders Merchants, Trade Counters, Independents, Construction industry

    Summary:

    As part of a vibrant sales and commercial team the main purpose of this role is to be the main custodian for some of the company's key accounts nationwide.

    Cultivate strong relationships with the branch networks and key decision makers UK wide to enhance loyalty, product knowledge and account growth.

    Identify opportunities for upselling, growing the accounts and cross-selling based on customer needs. This role is home based, managing a small number of key accounts (£5m pa in total value)

    Summary of responsibilities:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with all branches within the designated merchant group.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with seniors in the merchant groups, attending regional meetings, setting and monitoring sales and marketing campaigns within the designated merchant group.
    • Working to a tailored budget of sales and margin. (£5m in total value)
    • Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and growth objectives.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for key customers, addressing their needs and ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective delivery of products, resolve issues, and optimise overall customer experience.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
    • Provide regular reports on account performance, sales activities, and market intelligence.
    • Hosting and participating in trade and open days.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Proven experience as a Key Account Manager, preferably in the roofing and construction industry.
    • Background in the merchant sector is essential.
    • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to analyse market trends and implement effective sales strategies.
    • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
