    Mid-Senior Level Data Engineer - Financial Services

    Explore Group are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our clients team in Manchester. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, developing, and maintaining their data infrastructure within the Azure Cloud environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the success of their data-driven initiatives, with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes within the Azure Cloud environment, utilising components such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions that support business objectives.
    • Optimise data architecture and performance to ensure efficient data processing and storage.
    • Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner.
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance our data infrastructure.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
    • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on designing and implementing data solutions within the Azure Cloud environment.
    • Expertise in Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics (formerly SQL Data Warehouse).
    • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL, and/or Scala.
    • Experience working within the financial services sector is highly desirable, with exposure to Credit Reference Agency (CRA) data considered a significant advantage.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Located in or willing to relocate to Manchester, UK.
