    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Physiotherapists to join our Cystic Fibrosis physiotherapy team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston (UHBW) NHS Foundation Trust.

    We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced clinician with a respiratory interest to join our existing multi-disciplinary team to deliver both inpatient and outpatient care.

    Main duties of the job

  • To provide and develop a highly specialised physiotherapy service for all adults with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in the regional centre at University hospitals Bristol and Weston Trust.
  • To jointly undertake a clinical leadership role, in planning, coordinating, and delivering the CF Physiotherapy service provided to patients on a day-to-day basis.
  • Opportunity to act as a highly specialised source of expertise on the management of CF within the South West Network.
  • As an autonomous practitioner, use advanced skills in the assessment and treatment of adults with CF and ensure high quality physiotherapy treatment across the service.
  • With the support of the Pathway Lead, to evaluate patient services across the speciality and assist in the development, planning and progression of service provision.
  • To supervise, evaluate and assess the performance of other members of their team and those of Physiotherapy students.
  • To maintain own CPD and facilitate that of others within the team.
  • The post holder will be required to work shifts including weekends and to participate in the bank holiday rota.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Relevance of relevant respiratory post-graduate training
  • Desirable

  • Further qualification (Msc or equivalent) in physiotherapy or associated subject
  • Member of CSP
  • Member of relevant local/national clinical interest group (ACPCF, ACPRC)
  • Knowledge

    Essential

  • Significant experience at senior level in respiratory physiotherapy services
  • Participation in service development
  • Significant experience of clinical supervision, mentoring and teaching
  • Desirable

  • In depth clinical knowledge in Cystic Fibrosis underpinned by theory and practical experience
  • Skills

    Essential

  • Ability to build/maintain productive professional relationships quickly
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Aptitudes
