We are fortunate to have some of the UK's leading assessment experts and psychometricians that collaborate to deliver major national test development projects on behalf of clients such as STA, Ofqual and DfE.
We also develop digital test products trusted by thousands of schools and our robust and innovative research, assessment, and other services are widely known and used to support positive change across education systems.
You'll work with a variety of different research teams across NFER, and be involved in a number of psychometric, statistical and strategic areas covering many new and exciting areas of work.
We are looking for a psychometrician or a statistician keen to specialise their psychometric knowledge, either way a development program will form part of your ongoing training.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Understand classical test theory, equating, linking and item response theory, or a willingness/ability to learn
- Experienced user of statistical software, ideally R and SPSS but including other statistical packages such as FlexMirt, MPlus or other IRT packages
- have a practical and well-organised approach to the analysis of data
- be able to work quickly and accurately to meet deadlines
- be able to communicate effectively, with both researchers and other statisticians
- an ability to communicate analysis findings to a variety of audiences
