    Product & Finance Control / Vice President

    City of London

    Contract until March 2024

    £550 per day

    cer Financial are working alongside a wonderfully diverse, well-structured mid-tier bank based in the city. They have multiple projects ongoing at the bank but currently need help with an amalgamation of entities.

    They want to bring the accounting processes of both/maybe 3 entities under the same umbrella and standardise the processes for accounting and developing a universal and investment banking model, so need a fully qualified accountant that understands the systems and can help them execute the project.

    The design phase is done so now it is about execution.

    They are seeking a Product & Finance Control / Vice President to work with them on a contract until at least October but potentially longer.

    Knowledge of the Gloss system will be desirable but not a deal breaker.


    In this role you will support the transformation of developing universal corporate & investment banking model through integration of securities trading activities into a single legal entity.

    The Responsibilities of a Product & Finance Control / Vice President Will Include:


    • Enhance finance end-to-end control mapping and product accounting documentation
    • GL accounting mapping, configuration and testing through product lifecycle
    • Analysis and production of end-state balance sheet and PL modelling
    • Support testing and validation of downstream reporting processes
    • Understanding and contributing to period-end finance processes to successfully complete accurate financial reporting
    • Develop and support UAT activities and scripting of go-live scenarios and runbook
    The Successful Product & Finance Control /

    Vice President Will Have:

    • Qualified Accountant
    • 5 years+ prior experience in banking industry within Finance and / or Product Control
    • Working knowledge of vanilla securities products and their accounting - Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Swaps etc
    • Basic securities valuations experience
    • Period-end close and re-engineering the typical issues found within associated processes
    • Data analytics and Excel-based data manipulation i.e., large trade-based datasets, pivot tables, etc
    • Ad-hoc reporting requests to Senior management and Front Office

    Systems:
    Gloss settlement and subledger system, plus any Derivatives system. MS Excel, and Access


    • Testing/UAT participation from subledger / accounting rules engines / GL migrations
