Permanent, Part time, 22.2 hours per week

Band 4 - £31,396 to £34,980 per annum, pro rata

About the Role


The University of Suffolk is seeking an experienced Data and Systems Officer to join the People and Organisation Development team and take part in the digital transformation across our organisation.


The People & Organisational Development (POD) Directorate is responsible for the development and implementation of the University's People strategy which aims to attract, retain, and develop the best talent; achieve a positive and inclusive people culture; ensure high performance and positive people outcomes as the norm; and deploy a 'digital first' approach to its' people processes.


The Data and Systems Officer will work on the digital transformational activities and the streamlining of processes, working with the senior managers of the POD team to ensure that the systems are appropriately developed, maintained and operated efficiently and reliably, for use within the POD team and wider University context.

This role will also drive forward systems and process enhancement, facilitating greater awareness and ownership of management data across the institution.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all data is managed effectively and recorded accurately, supporting teams with reporting, database usage and the wider use of systems and processes.


About You
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic with a transformational 'can do' outlook, customer and solution-focused.

You will have excellent IT skills in the use of databases and Microsoft packages including Office 365, Excel and Word, with proven experience in data analysis, reporting and data visualisation tools.

You will be a pro-active team player with the ability to work at pace and to a high standard.


You will need to build and maintain a good relationship with internal and external stakeholders including the Digital & IT and Planning & Management Information team.

You will be a contributing member to various groups and forums, communicate and work effectively with colleagues to establish data requirements, resolve problems, achieve mutually beneficial goals and improve service.
