To provide general clerical support to the secretari e s enabling them to provide an efficient and effective administrative service to the Consultants and clinical teams.


We are looking for someone to join our administration team in St Richards Hospital providing efficient, effective clerical support to the Cardiology Secretaries in our Cardiology Department.

Main duties include, but are not limited to;
To provide comprehensive clerical support to the Admin staff and other staff within the department.

Undertake general clerical duties as required consistent with the job,

Open & date stamp incoming post and assist with outward going, internal and external post

To assist with setting up patient paper medical records file/upload to electronic patient records

To assist with filing duties as requested.

To assist with photocopying as requested.

Update/maintain departmental databases

To assist with scanning documents.

To file, chase, retrieve and deliver medical notes, signed investigation reports and other documentation relating to patients

To undertake routine maintenance of records e.g. thinning, repairing and tidying.

To undertake scanning of records when requested.

Ability to prioritise own workload and plan accordingly


Monitor and advise admin staff of stationery needs, take delivery of departmental stationery including putting the stock away in appropriate place.

Answer the telephone and take a message if no one available to answer the call.

Communications and Relationship skills

Communication is mainly with work colleagues and routine to assist in undertaking own job.

Work is completely directed and managed.

Attendance at regular team meetings

Analytical and Judgemental skills

Judgements involve straightforward facts or situations.

Analytical skills needed in locating patient casenotes.
