    The school has access to more than twenty acres of attractive grounds, on the northern fringe of Tonbridge, Kent.

    We are are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work in a Key Stage 1 class. This is a full time role.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • To attend to the personal and social needs of pupils.
    • To supervise pupils during breaks and lunchtimes.
    • To ensure pupils' health and safety, and welfare at all times.
    • To accompany pupils on outings, including educational visits.
    • To have high expectations for all children and a commitment to ensuring they can achieve their full potential.
    • To promote inclusion for all children ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
    • To hear pupils read on a regular basis as requested by the teacher.
    • To support individual pupils and small groups in class work as directed by the teacher.
    • To assist with differentiated groups of pupils and support pupils with special educational needs as required.
    • To observe and keep written records on pupils' progress and performance as required.
    • To keep the classroom and resources in good order.
    • To assist in the preparation and management of teaching materials and resources.
    • To assist with display areas.
    • To assist with general administrative tasks.
    • To communicate concerns, observations and feedback confidentially to relevant staff.

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

    • An appropriate teaching assistant qualification
    • Experience of working in Key Stage 1
    • Experience of classroom support including supporting pupil engagement and participation in lessons
    • Experience of managing relationships with parents and carers
    • Good organisational skills - extensive experience of planning and delivery of 1-1 or group interventions for children with SEND & record keeping of sessions delivered, progress of assessments, next steps
    • Have good interpersonal skills/effective communicator and be reliable - the ability to liaise with all staff and maintain strong levels of confidentiality
    • Competent IT skills
    • Exceptional behaviour management skills
