    Nursery Practitioner

    Location: Moat Barn Forest School, Hasketon, Woodbridge, IP13 6JW

    Salary: From £ £11.30 per hour

    Hours: Monday to Friday Full-time hours per week + overtime) (One full day off a week)

    Our Nursery

    Moat Barn Nursery School is located within a converted Barn and specialist designed buildings set amongst farmlands. Providing children with fantastic opportunities to play and learn inside and outside. The facilities and surrounding are very unique as the nursery is in a beautiful rural setting yet still, only 3 miles from Woodbridge and only 20 minutes from Ipswich town centre.

    The nursery has recently been bought by new owners who are investing heavily in the facilities, the staff team and, the learning environment for children. This is an opportunity to join an exciting business with a real focus on staff development and on delivering the highest quality of childcare possible. We are looking for proactive professionals who want to add value by introducing new idea and challenging the status quo.

    We strive to provide an educational environment for children within a bright, safe, stimulating, and welcoming school setting. We offer a unique countryside environment away from the busy towns for children aged three months to eleven years.

    We have a dedicated team of staff, whose enthusiasm and commitment is demonstrated when working with the children. Our last Ofsted inspection was August The nursery was graded as Outstanding.

    Nursery Practitioner Essential Criteria:

    This is an exciting and fulfilling role that incorporates lots of variety. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will spend your days looking after children from 3 months old, right up to toddlers. You'll ensure that the children have fun whilst being sensitive and attentive to their individual needs.

    As a Nursery Practitioner, you will need to be confident in speaking to parents, work well within a team and communicate effectively with others. As part of the team, we will offer training and personal development.

    Level 3 Early Years Qualification.

    Nursery Practitioner Roles and Responsibilities:

    • To work as a member of our nursery team, contributing both in terms of initiative and creativity to an environment which encourages the all-round development of our children
    • To provide a high standard of care to all children
    • To strive to understand the policies and procedures in place within our Nursery and to actively seek out help, advice, and support from more senior members of staff
    • To be involved in all aspects of the day to day running of our Nursery including cleaning.
    • To be a reliable member of the Moat Barn Nursery team, working cooperatively and flexibly whilst fulfilling a range of tasks across our Nursery
    • To have a general understanding that every child is different and so are their needs
    • To have a desire and self-motivation to learn and understand child development
    • To observe each child's progress and consider their next steps developmentally
    • To be involved in developing positive relationships with parents/carers and outside agencies with support from Senior staff
    • To work productively with colleagues
    • To assist with the supervision of children whilst playing and learning – both inside and outside
    • To assist with the supervision of children whilst they are eating and sleeping
    • With the support and guidance of senior staff, to assist with planning a programme of activities which are age and stage appropriate for children following the EYFS guidelines
    • To assist with the creation of a stimulating and attractive classroom environment
