    Senior Storage Engineer

    This role is available to current employees within IT Services at the University of Leeds only

    Interview expected to be held 13 May 2024

    Salary: Grade 7 (£37,099 - £44,263 p.a. depending on experience)

    This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

    Can you solve complex issues and drive continual service improvement? Do you possess strong analytical skills to identify trends and provide actionable insights to stakeholders? Can you troubleshoot incidents effectively, contributing to problem management processes?

    The Storage Team is focussed on delivering storage space from on-premises and public cloud systems, making it easy and safe for our customers to archive, vault, protect and share data, as well as backing up servers, databases and applications. At present, we manage and oversee more than 10 petabytes of data with projections indicating substantial growth, particularly with the acceleration of University Research.

    You will actively contribute to the implementation of the policy and process standards, service offerings and strategic projects with wide reaching impacts across the University as a key member of the Storage Team. You will be instrumental in shaping and standardising the delivery model and operational practices as we modernise our storage estate for Research data.

    You will take a leading role in the development of solutions for complex issues and problems. Your inspirational approach will raise the quality of services delivered by the team, fostering a focus on continual service improvement throughout its provision. Leveraging your IT expertise, you will contribute to the development of a service aligned with industry best practices, IT standards and regulatory compliance.
