    Job Description Juno Genetics Ltd is a company specialising in genetic diagnostics with a particular emphasis on reproductive medicine, including prenatal diagnosis and the analysis of embryos produced during IVF treatments.

    Over the last two years, Juno has grown to be one of the world's largest providers of preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) services, which involves the examination of DNA and chromosomes in small numbers of cells biopsied from embryos before they implant in the womb.

    Clinical teams include preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies and structural rearrangements (PGT-A & PGT-SR), preimplantation genetic testing for monogenic disorders (PGT-M), non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), and expanded carrier screening.

    The successful applicant will receive all necessary training in a variety of molecular biology and cytogenetic techniques.

    The post holder will need to be flexible with their working hours, as the post may require some evening, or weekend work.

    The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a strong background in genetics as well as practical experience with a range of laboratory techniques.

    Undertake specimen preparation and analysis for a range of sample types.

    • Evaluate and monitor the accuracy and precision of laboratory investigations using appropriate quality control procedures.
    • Interpret clinical information and use scientific knowledge to process specimens for appropriate tests, seeking advice from senior staff when necessary.
    • Communicate with clinics with courtesy and professionalism.
    • To assist, when required, in the preparation of documents for the laboratory's Quality Management System, according to the standards of ISO15189.
    • To solve complex problems within work area, and communicate any perceived clinical, logistic or managerial issues to senior staff.
    BSc or MSc in Biology/Genetics/Molecular Biology or a related subject, together with relevant experience.

    • Theoretical and practical knowledge in the discipline of genetics relevant to role.
    • Practical experience with one or more of the key technologies such as DNA amplification techniques (e.g. PCR and/or whole genome amplification); mutation analysis; The ability to communicate efficiently, accurately and courteously with other members of the laboratory team and with external medical professionals - both verbally and in writing.
    • Demonstrable experience of working to a laboratory Quality Management System.
    • Experience and understanding of reproductive genetics.
